Formal Plans for the Planning Application Process.

The West Farnborough Man Shed was an initiative that aimed to establish a community space for local residents in Rushmoor. Initially led by a dedicated group of volunteers, the project embarked on a series of steps to bring the vision to life. The first task was to identify a suitable location for the Man Shed and secure an appropriate building. Once these were determined, the team devised a comprehensive work plan outlining the necessary steps for implementation.
The group successfully pinpointed a favourable site adjacent to Farnborough Rugby Club and obtained temporary planning permission.

They also took the necessary measures to prepare the ground for the building's installation and successfully transported it across Farnborough to its new location. Following the successful placement of the portacabin alongside the FRUFC building, the project moved forward with subsequent stages outlined in the work plan.

Installation of the utilities.

This involved the installation of three essential utilities such as electricity, wastewater drainage, and a fresh water supply. As the project gained momentum, the team expanded, to a membership of 14 dedicated trustees.

In early 2023, these trustees formally adopted the WFMS constitution, solidifying their commitment to the project.
To ensure effective coordination and progress, the trustees held regular meetings, diligently refining the work plan for the Man Shed. As a significant milestone, the project held its inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June 2023. During this event, the trustees officially appointed a 'Board of Trustees,' further solidifying the organizational structure and governance of the West Farnborough Man Shed.
